Types of Asphalt Patches
Not every pothole needs the same fix, and using the wrong repair method is one of the quickest ways to see the same problem come back. Different pothole conditions require different repair methods which is why RDC Paving uses commercial-grade patching techniques based on the extent of the damage and the pavement structure.
Our techniques include:
Skin Patches (Surface Patches)
Used for superficial damage less than two inches deep. These repairs address surface deterioration before it spreads.
Partial-Depth Patches
Designed for moderate failures where the surface layers of asphalt are compromised but the base remains stable.
Full-Depth Patches
Required when the pavement structure has failed. This method removes and replaces both the surface and underlying layers to restore strength.
Infrared Patching
A seamless, thermally bonded repair method that reheats existing asphalt and integrates new material. Infrared patching is a cost-effective option for minor to moderate damage when the pavement has not completely failed.
